DEEP TISSUE: Deep tissue massage uses deep, penetrating strokes and cross fiber friction techniques to get right down to the root of muscle aches and soreness. It is highly useful in breaking down adhesions and restoring normal movement and muscle function. It also helps to realign deeper layers of muscle and connection tissue and is especially helpful in easing chronic tension and pain.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE/TRIGGER POINT THERAPY: A very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle, sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue that surrounds all muscles. With sustained, slow pressure, muscular restrictions are eliminated and motion is restored. The use of this technique allows for improved flexibility, enhancement of strength, and postural/movement awareness for the client.
THAI MASSAGE: Traditional Thai massage combines elements of yoga, shiatsu and acupressure, working with the energy pathways of the body and the therapeutic points that are located along these lines. It is performed fully clothed, on a mat, on the floor. It is also used to restore and maintain health and overall equilibrium and balance.
SWEDISH MASSAGE: A gentler, more broad and superficial approach to massage. It is one of the most widely used techniques to promote general relaxation and enhance circulation. Swedish strokes include firm but gentle pressure to ease muscle tension.
